The Journey of a Dermopigmentation Artist: From Brazil to Montreal

Welcome to my world of Micropigmentation, Medical Tattooing, and Eyebrow Care!

Hello everyone!

My name is Melissa Medeiros, and I am very happy to share a bit of my story with you and explain how I ended up in Montreal, where I am a beautician specializing in dermopigmentation at Clinique O.

Since 2010, I had dreamed of living in Montreal, and today, I am finally making that dream come true! I arrived here in June 2024 to pursue my career and bring all my expertise in dermopigmentation, a field I am truly passionate about.

However, my journey didn’t start with dermopigmentation. Before becoming a specialist in this aesthetic technique, I studied architecture and worked as an interior designer. I really enjoyed this profession, but I felt like something was missing. That’s when, out of personal necessity, I discovered eyebrow micropigmentation, and that’s how a great story began!

After completing my first training in eyebrow design, I quickly realized that I was on the right path. But it was thanks to my first micropigmentation course that my love for this technique truly took shape. At that moment, I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! I began working on my friends and family while continuing my work as an interior designer. Gradually, I specialized further, taking more courses and welcoming more and more clients.

In 2015, a turning point: I had an accident at home and cut my Achilles tendon. This period of rest made me realize that it was time to change careers, and I decided to fully dedicate myself to micropigmentation. I began promoting my work on social media, and right after my recovery, I saw the demand for my services grow rapidly.

In 2016, I became a pioneer in my city by introducing the Microblading technique, or "hair-by-hair," for eyebrows. I attracted an audience seeking more natural and delicate results, which allowed me to gain local recognition. I even gave interviews to the press and television news! And my goal has always remained the same: to offer results that correct and enhance, but with a natural and subtle effect, almost imperceptible, while having a positive impact on each person's image.

Over time, I expanded my horizons. In addition to eyebrow micropigmentation, I began working on lips, eyes, and even paramedical tattooing, which includes areola reconstruction, scar and skin camouflage. The possibilities are endless!

To deepen my knowledge, I also studied traditional and artistic tattooing, becoming a tattoo artist. Over time, I specialized in more delicate tattoos, done in a warm environment, which is very popular with women, especially because they can be tattooed by another woman. Additionally, I have taken courses focused on skincare, as I believe it is essential to deeply understand skin health in order to perform procedures in the best possible way.

It has now been 12 years of dedication, study, and practice! I have already taken care of over 2,000 clients and performed over 8,000 procedures. Now, I am starting a new chapter of my life here in Canada, in Montreal, with Clinique O, a clinic specializing in ophthalmologic and aesthetic surgery.

I am very excited about the new opportunities that lie ahead and the chance to introduce my work to a new audience. For me, dermopigmentation goes beyond just a technique: it is a true art that requires an artistic and sensitive eye, always in pursuit of natural and transformative results.

I hope my journey will inspire each of you to follow your dreams, just as I am doing now, in this new chapter of my life in Montreal.
